Shakira has inked a millionaire deal with global concert promoter Live Nation. According to reports, the Colombian has landed an agreement between $70 and $100 millions with the firm, which has Madonna, U2 and Jay-Z among its latest additions. Shakira ranked forth earlier this year on Forbes’ world richest female musician list. The songstress still has contract duties with her old label Sony BMG that includes two studio albums and a greatest hits collection material.
Shakira and her boyfriend Antonio de la Rua are going through a crisis after rumors claiming he has cheated on her. The Argentinean was snapped getting up too close with an unknown woman in a New York nightclub, according to reports. However, the singer has kept mum about the gossip.
Shakira will have her star in the Hollywood Walk of the Fame. The singer has won a place in the famous sidewalk and her name will be joining other 70 Latino stars that are already there. “We are thankful with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for giving credit to Shakira in her labor of star and all her contributions to education”, said Shakira’s spokeperson Diana Baron. As all the people praised with the accolade, the Colombian will have to pay $5.000 as regard maintenance costs.
Shakira has revealed she is working on a new album. The singer, who gave a charity concert in Buenos Aires last month with her foundation ALAS, said she is on the creation stage of her upcoming material. “I’m already working on my new album. We’re currently on the creation stage in the Bahamas. It’s important to keep the balance, but I’m happy with this concert and the foundation.” The release date hasn’t been announced yet.
Shakira and Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz performed this Saturday (May 17) in the “Concert For The Children" in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The event was made to benefit the ALAS foundation (Latin America in Solidarity Action) and the same performance was made in Mexico as well. The show was set on behalf of the hunger stricken children in Latin America. Other artists that also took part in the event included, Gustavo Cerati, Juan Luis Guerra, Juanes, MANÁ, Miguel Bosé, and Ricky Martin.
